Copper popped rivets can be used for many applications, from fastening copper sheeting or gutters, to decorative building and industrial products. Buying copper open end blind rivets may not be as easy as you think. With less than a handful of blind rivet manufacturers left in America, and with a few of those importing more and more products. You as the buyer, consumer, needs to ask: Am I really getting copper? What is to country of origin? What grade of copper are the rivets made out of?
An actual manufacturer will promptly respond with the answers. As a 100% American manufacturer and Certified as such by a national auditor, aDP Rivet makes it’s copper open end blind rivets out of CDA110 copper wire. The USA is the country of origin and the CDA110 copper wire is purchased here in the USA as well. Our rivet bodies are formed out of the copper wire material, processed and then assembled with a mating steel mandrel to assure optimum pulling, clamping and fastening of the application materials. Our copper rivets are made to American standards and the inch measurement system.
Beware of imported copper popped rivets as you may not be getting CDA110 grade copper. You may be getting copper plated, which may appear to be copper but is actually a very thin (.0001) much thinner than a human hair coating. You may also be getting a less pure grade of copper material, which may lead to premature oxidation and/or corrosion.
